14 Nights Cruise – Iceland, Faroe Islands and Norway – Part 2

Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

From Akureyri we had another sail day with the (already)  usual  cloudy and rainy weather. It was cold  and the simple process of  crossing the outdoor decks was a brave act due to the wind.

Clocks went forward and we went towards  the Faroe Islands.

We arrived at Klaksvik  with an overcast and chilly day. There was a complimentary shuttle bus into the little town of Klaksvik.  There’s not much to see there but we did our best, taking many pictures of the landscape. The ship was offering an excursion to Leinvik but I searched the web before traveling and I  noticed that the scenary would be must the same thing as in Klaksvik, so we decided to stay put.  There was no point in paying USD 74.75 pp to be “touring”  during four hours inside a bus to see the same landscape and architecture we were seeing by foot!

We walked around the little town, took some pictures and waited for the free shuttle bus that brought us back to the ship.

Having crossed the Arctic circle we received a diploma from the Captain to prove this.

After leaving Faroe Islands  the ship head to Norway.
